Feedback from some recent talks

Western Australia

His Perth workshop, which was well attended by members from four camera clubs, showed off Mark’s skills as a natural and responsive instructor. Everyone present felt fortunate to be learning from one of the best practitioners in the photo editing business. His relaxed and flexible style ensured all his audience left with expanded knowledge and an appetite for more. We all felt inspired to get more out of the Adobe products and implement the advice we’d gained. Newsflash June 2016 – WA Camera Club. Individual comments from the participants

      • Excellent workshop . . .never known four hours to go so quickly! Mark was very knowledgeable on his product and gave us so many tips for Lightroom. Susan Moss
      • I thought that Mark’s presentation was good – he has a very amiable and relaxed style – Ann Jones
      • I thought it was great. I learned a lot and he went through it all very clearly and neatly – Kim McAvoy
      • It was a really great workshop, with great information and really enjoyable – Peter Chalmers
      • It was a great presentation. Mark is a good speaker, making his points clearly – Grace Munday

Photographic State Convention: Mark Galer made an excellent presentation to more than 100 delegates on the benefits and advantages of the Creative Cloud suite of software. This presentation was informative and encouraging to photographers, and detailed many of the new features available beyond CS6.  As a result, many of the participants took immediate steps to download the program, so that they could attend the other two sessions that Mark presented, one on Lightroom Libraries, and the other on Smart Workflows.  Both of these sessions were filled to capacity and beyond. The Smart Workflows workshop was very over subscribed, and a larger venue had to be found to contain all of the participants who wished to attend. Very positive feedback was provided by delegates about the sessions that Mark provided.

What a great Lightroom/Photoshop presentation by Adobe’s  Australian/New Zealand Ambassador, Mark Galer, on Sunday 8th May. Our Club was so privileged to have somebody of Mark’s calibre to spend the day with us and his laid-back and friendly style clarified many issues that most of us have or had at some time. Mark explained how and why Adobe moved to the Cloud system and also the many benefits there are that most users would not be aware of. Recent discussions on our Facebook pages complaining about Adobe and what the alternatives are were blown into insignificance, once he explained the combining power of Lightroom and Photoshop. It was not a hard sell for Adobe. Just a simple overview and teaching of the system.

Australian Photographic Society Convention: Your expert contribution to the convention was magnificent. It was apparent that your knowledge of the Adobe products was both broad and deep. Your presentations were carefully structured and presented in a polished, professional way making them both informative and enjoyable. I am sure that delegates appreciated your clear communication and your expert navigation of the software.

On behalf of the Frankston Photographic Club, I would like to thank you for delivering a very inspiring seminar last Saturday at our club.  The event was well attended, we filled the room to capacity with almost 70 participants.  While about half of those people were from our club, we attracted many from other photography clubs around Melbourne, making this a city-wide event. We received really positive feedback from many attendees about the quality of the presentation, the amount of information discussed, and your professionalism and expertise in Lightroom/Photoshop.  Some have already asked “when can we do it again”.

From our perspective, this has been a really successful event. One point that is often overlooked in events like this is the flow-on effect. These seminars attract the best and most dedicated photographers from various clubs, and it is those “influencers” who are then presenting at their own clubs to teach other photographers about image editing techniques with Adobe products.  In that way, these seminars assist more than just those who attended, and continue to provide benefits well after the event. Your insight into Adobe’s direction with Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC was particularly timely. Thanks for including that.

Terry Dyson – President – Frankston Photographic Club
