Vello Adapter – Nikon to Sony E-Mount

Autofocus is now possible with a limited range of Nikon lenses on Sony A7RII, A7II and A6300 cameras.

Alpha E-Mount users now have the option of using Nikon F-Mount lenses in AF mode using the Vello F to E-Mount adapter (also branded as the Commlite adapter).

The adapter supports auto-exposure and aperture control from the camera body for G and E-type Nikon lenses (but NOT D-type lenses). The adapter also supports fast or moderately fast Auto Focus for a limited range of Nikon G and E-type lenses when shooting stills (not movies) – so it is worth checking if your favourite lenses AF are supported by this adapter before purchase (if AF is your number one priority). Autofocus is best supported by Sony cameras that utilise the latest focal-plane phase-detect AF systems – so cameras such as A7S, A7SII and A7R which uses Contrast Detect AF only will not have any AF capability when using this adapter. The following full-frame lenses have been tested as having fast, or moderately fast, AF when used on an A7RII or A7II using the latest firmware upgrade.
