Join me, Darran Leal of World Photo Adventures and Mike O’Connor (Editor of the Australian Photography Magazine) on World Heritage listed Fraser Island for the Ultimate Creative Photography experience in 2018.
4WD’s are used as mobile hides to ‘get up close’ to the wildlife including eagles and feeding oystercatchers (3 photographers per vehicle for a great shooting experience)
The tour includes 3 nights accommodation at Eurong Beach Resort on the eastern beach and 2 nights accommodation at the multi award winning Kingfisher Bay Resort –
Experience world class photo tuition from multiple tutors, breakfast lunch and dinner each night, plus island transport, ferry transfers and transport to and from Hervey Bay airport.
ITINERARY – to adventure…
DAY 1 – Eurong Beach Resort
Sunday, August 26
We meet at Kingfisher Bay Resort at 3pm and drive to Eurong Beach Resort (45 minutes) on the east coast of Fraser Island and undertake a workshop to answer those nagging photographic questions and cover digital technique/equipment questions. This will set you up for the rest of the week. We include a group dinner tonight.
DAYs 2&3 – Eurong Beach Resort
Monday/Tuesday, August 27/28
We are up for sunrise and that fantastic light that can offer the best look to your images. Morning beach shoot studying creative subjects from shells, to sand patterns and perhaps a dingo. We return for breakfast, followed by a workshop on Visualisation and Creative shooting. Afternoon drive north targeting eagles, dingo and a ship wreck. A magic two days exploring the wonders of a white sand surf beach.
DAY 4 – Eurong Beach Resort to Kingfisher Bay Resort
Wednesday, August 29
We shoot another sunrise at a new location on the beach and new subjects. After breakfast, we start to drive west to Kingfisher Bay Resort, stopping at Central Station for a rainforest shoot. We also enjoy lunch at this location. Late workshop on processing your images via Lightroom and Photoshop. We meet for dinner – a chance to talk about the days adventures.
DAY 5 – Kingfisher Bay Resort
Thursday, August 30
Group morning walk with nature the key target. After breakfast, we meet at 9am for a workshop on using your images beyond processing. Afternoon shoot around the resort – birds, flowers, crabs and creative patterns are all available. Your photo guides will offer a unique subject or two! We shoot sunset at the jetty hut, with Darran shouting the group a drink. Final group dinner tonight.
DAY 6 – Kingfisher Bay Resort – Tour Ends
Friday, August 31
We meet at 8.00am for a final overview and the chance for you to ask more questions. Everyone shows their favourite images from the week. You will be amazed at the diversity of images. You are sure to notice an improvement in your own photographic skills. We finish at approximately 9.30am.
