This extended video tutorial is intended to help photographers who are interested in making the transition from Adobe Lightroom to DxO PhotoLab 8 as ‘pain-free’ as possible. In this video I outline some of the advantages and potential disadvantages of using DxO PhotoLab 8 instead of Adobe Lightroom. Advantages for using DxO PhotoLab include its class-leading Denoising Technologies (that make images captured with ISO 12800 look like they were captured with ISO 100) and their outstanding ‘Lens Softness Compensations’ that make budget lenses appear just as sharp as very expensive lenses. Although the DxO PhotoLab editing workflows are very different to the workflows you are used to in Lightroom, this tutorial will provide you with all of the editing tips required to make the learning curve less steep and pain-free.
