Format: HD Movie Duration: 11 Minutes 30 Seconds Software: Adobe Lightroom Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate
This movie tutorial shows how a photographer can release the drama (magic) that can sometimes be hidden in an unedited file. The original image was captured on Princes Pier in Port Melbourne using a Sony A6000 camera and the SEL1018 lens with an ND 400 (Neutral Density) filter. The use of the ND filter extended the exposure time to 30 Seconds but the quickly fading light led to a compromised exposure in the foreground. The use of Graduated Filters in Lightroom restores the exposure balance to the image and a host of complementary techniques releases the extraordinary from the ordinary. Although the skills are accessible to the beginner, most intermediate users of the software will pick up some handy tips and techniques.
