Sony’s FE85F18 – Portrait Lens

Lets cut to the chase here – if you are in the market for a native E-Mount prime 85mm lens with autofocus for your full frame Sony A7 camera then you will probably be looking at how the new F/1.8 85 lens shapes up to its competition.
The bottom line is that it is significantly cheaper and lighter. Time will tell as to how much optical performance you will sacrifice by choosing this lens over its rivals. If the answer is ‘not much’, then I am confident this lens will be a good seller for Sony. If the IQ turns out to be respectable, it will then join the excellent FE28F2 in Sony’s good value prime lens lineup.
