THIS 4 DAY TOUR WILL COVER
Balinese dance is a rich part of the tapestry of religious and ceremonial life in Balinese culture. You will be given the opportunity to photograph dancers in traditional costume, both before and during a performance. This is followed by Dinner at one of finest Restaurants in Ubud before returning to the hotel for rest and recuperation.
In this first shoot mark will provide you with the optimum camera settings for working in Ubud’s holy Monkey Forest. This tropical rainforest is rich in flora, fauna and holy temples. You will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the monkeys and also take advantage of the ancient temples that we will use as an amazing backdrop for creating stunning portraits of locals in traditional costume.
Dating back to 960 AD, this majestic temple and holy mountain spring is the legendary setting of a traditional tale. The spring feeds various purification baths, pools and fish ponds and offers a fabulous location to capture the Balinese engaging in both ceremonial activities and family fun. From here we return to home base for image editing, relaxation and dinner.
In this creative shoot you will be shown the optimum camera settings to capture fleeting moments quickly and decisively. This will give you the opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of street and market life in Ubud and our guides/interpreters will help you connect and make friends with the locals so that you will never feel like an intruder.
For this shoot we descend from the hills to explore the coastal scenery around the holy temple called Tana Lot. We will have the chance to explore local markets, walk along the beaches or seek sanctuary for a therapeutic massage. Mark’s team will then guide you to capture stunning long-exposure seascapes at sunset before returning to Ubud for dinner.
This location offers a great opportunity to capture the beauty and drama Bali’s best waterfall. Tegenungan is situated just 5 kms from Ubud. After you have explored the photographic opportunities that this idyllic location has to offer, why not take a swim to cool off before lunch. From here we return to base camp to process images, take a relaxing massage and refresh before heading out for shoot 8.
Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is a 17th Century water temple located in a fairytale setting on a lake in the mountain highlands. It is here we will explore the many photographic opportunities the lakeside scenery has to offer.
